Effective Presentation
Hard work and good ideas are essential to success. One’s ability to express and share those ideas is probably even more important. Brilliant ideas, and endless hours of hard work, have been lost because they weren’t “sold” right. Typically these ideas and work are shared one on one, or in small groups. However, periodically and even frequently for some, these ideas need to be shared, audiences need to be convinced.
We have all been victims of speakers (e.g. bad teachers) who put us to sleep, even though what they’re saying is of crucial importance to us. Despite experiencing ineffective speakers and even knowing where they’re going wrong, given the chance many of us don’t do much better. The weakness is not always in the presentation, but mostly in the presenter. We all know a good salesman can sell something completely useless.
This lecture is an abridged version of our popular training “Boldly go where no presentation has gone before”. This lecture gives an overview of how to make a presentation and shows how to get over stage fright. This also gives a guideline of how to prepare and equip yourself for effective presentation. The tools of a good speaker or presenter are much more than a well-made electronic presentation.
Typical Duration: 90 minutes + Q&A
